The Saint-Tropez market is held every Tuesday and Saturday, from 8 am to 1 pm, on the Place des Lices, all year round. In the old village, two more markets showcase local produce: the Place aux Herbes market, open in season, and the fish market (halle aux poissons), where the fishermen sell three days a week.
Around Saint-Tropez, the villages of the gulf also hold their Provençal markets throughout the week. Here are the days, opening hours and practical tips to plan your visit.

The Place des Lices market: Tuesday and Saturday, 8 am to 1 pm
The Place des Lices market is Saint-Tropez’s main Provençal market. It is held every Tuesday and Saturday, from 8 am to 1 pm, all year round, in the heart of the village.
Under the plane trees, the stalls offer food and all kinds of goods. You will find seasonal fruit and vegetables, fish, seafood, charcuterie and meat, as well as clothing, flowers, plants, local crafts and home decor.
Saturday is especially busy. To enjoy the market before the crowds arrive, aim to get there from 8 am, ideally before 8:30 am. It is also wise to plan your parking in advance, particularly in summer.
Once you have browsed the stalls, you can carry on to the café terraces or the narrow streets of the historic centre. To plan the rest of your visit, read our guide to visiting the village of Saint-Tropez.
The Place aux Herbes and the fish market: two markets in the old village
Just a few steps apart, the Place aux Herbes and the fish market offer two complementary experiences in the heart of old Saint-Tropez.
The Place aux Herbes market: every day in season
The Place aux Herbes market is held from 1 April to 31 October, from 7 am to 12:45 pm. Its stalls sell fruit, vegetables and flowers, as well as produce from specialist traders, including cheese and wine. Occasional closures may occur in April, May and October.
Smaller than the Place des Lices market, it is a good place to pick up a little fresh produce over the course of the morning, in the narrow streets of the historic centre.

The fish market (halle aux poissons): Thursday, Friday and Saturday
Located at the Porte de la Poissonnerie, the fish market is one of the village’s historic landmarks. The fishermen sell their catch of the day here, laid out on marble slabs.
Depending on the catch, the stalls may include sea bream, sea bass, red mullet, scorpionfish, octopus or moray eel.
The fish market is open all year round, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, from 8 am to 1 pm.

When to go to the Saint-Tropez market?
When you visit determines which markets you can go to.
From April to October, the Place aux Herbes market adds to the one on the Place des Lices. The seasonal markets in neighbouring towns also give you more choice, depending on their own calendars.
From November to March, the Place des Lices market still runs on Tuesday and Saturday, while the fish market keeps its usual opening days. The Place aux Herbes market closes for the winter.
What time should you arrive?
Most Provençal markets around the gulf take place in the morning. For the best choice of produce and to move around the stalls more easily, it is best to arrive at opening time or early in the morning.
On Saturdays, this tip is particularly useful for the Place des Lices market, which is very busy in high season.

How to get to the Saint-Tropez market and where to park?
The Place des Lices is in the heart of the village. There are several ways to get to the market, depending on where you are staying and when you visit.
By car
Several public car parks give access to the centre of Saint-Tropez, including the Lices, Foch and Nouveau Port car parks. In high season, parking can be in very high demand. Allow extra time or choose another way to get there when you can.
By boat from Sainte-Maxime
The Bateaux Verts sea shuttles link Sainte-Maxime and Saint-Tropez, among other routes. This lets you reach the village by sea, then walk on to the market. Check the timetables and crossings for the day of your visit.
On foot, by bike or by shuttle
Once you are there, the historic centre is easy to explore on foot. Depending on the season, other transport options may be available in the village. Check the operating hours of the town shuttles and the conditions for cycling.
From Kube Saint-Tropez, in Gassin
Kube Saint-Tropez stands on the hillside of Gassin, about 20 minutes on foot and 10 minutes by bike from the village of Saint-Tropez, depending on your route.
During the season, hotel guests can also use a chauffeured shuttle to the centre of Saint-Tropez, from 7 am to 11 pm. It takes you to the village for a morning at the market, then back to the hotel, with no need to look for a parking space in the centre.
To make a day of it, save lunch for a table in the village with our guide on where to eat in Saint-Tropez, then spend the afternoon on the beaches of Saint-Tropez. At the end of the day, our guide to the hilltop village of Gassin points out the viewpoints over the gulf.
